offense is still very gimmicky, but at least the second-year quarterback made some impre sive, high-degree-of-difficulty throws in the narrow defeat at the hands of the in Week 7. A step in the right direction for the young quarterback.Despite convincing victories over divisional opponents in which they had monster stat lines, and weren't asked to do much above the beyond the normal call of duty.A grand total of seven quarterbacks selected in the past two NFL draft cla ses saw considerable playing time -- more than 10 pa s attempts -- during a wild Week 7.Let's dive deep into the individual efforts of each quarterback and a sign a grade on a per-snap basis, taking every individual aspect of their performance into account. CIN QB #9 Best Throws:Burrow's Johnny Manziel Jersey second throw of the game was awesome. On an out-route to , he threw with anticipation a split second before he was hit by a blitzing linebacker up the middle. After an amazing in-and-out move made a defender mi s in the pocket, he found open over the middle with tons of green gra s around him.Late in the second, Burrow had awesome placement on a back-shoulder to s to for a first down.Late in the third, he threw with perfect timing and accuracy on a tightly covered out to Higgins. On the next play, Burrow couldn't have walked and placed the ball better to Chase on a back shoulder.Worst Throws:In the first, Burrow threw high and wide on a back-shoulder attempt to Higgins. Also in the first quarter, he drifted right but sailed a pa s to Higgins that fell incomplete. His interception in the end zone was a fadeaway throw into double coverage. Brutal decision.Summary:Burrow was good against the , but individually, not as impre sive as the 400-yard outing would indicate. He's definitely throwing with anticipation more frequently and has done a fine job limiting mistakes in his second season.Grade: B+Season Grade: B- MIA QB #1 Best Throws:His second throw of the game was nicely fit into near the sideline for nine yards on what was a long throw.Early in the second, Tagovailoa pieced together a nifty scramble, eluding defenders in the pocket and shaking a defender at the second level for eight yards.Midway through the third, Tagovailoa got the football to Waddle near the sideline for 14 yards, right before two defenders converged on the rookie receiver. From deep in his own end in the fourth, Tagovailoa located running down the right sideline. He lofted the ball with perfect trajectory over a defender for 18 yards. On the Cory Spangenberg Jersey next play, Tagovailoa threw with requisite anticipation on a deep over to Mike Gesicki for 27 yards.Late in the fourth, Tagovailoa looked right before ripping a seam throw to Gesicki down the middle for 16 yards.Worst Throws:Midway through the first quarter, Tagovailoa was late on an in-breaking route to .The fourth-quarter interception likely had some miscommunication involved, but Tagovailoa simply cannot try to make that throw over the middle while being taken to the ground.Summary:This was, easily, Tagovailoa's most encouraging performance of the 2021 season. Despite the Dolphins still giving him a litany of RPO slants, screens, and swing pa ses, the second-year quarterback put a collection of high-level throws on film against the Falcons.Grade: B+Season Grade: B- PHI QB #1 Best Throws:Hurts' second throw of the contest was a gorgeously placed corner route to that fit over underneath defenders and in front of the safety for 24 yards. In the second, he threw with good timing and ball placement on a deep out to .While on the run in the third quarter, Hurts threw with zip and perfect ball placement to a cro sing for 27 yards. In the fourth, Hurts connected with Goedert on a long throw acro s the field on a deep out for 24 yards.WorstThrows:Late in the first quarter, Hurts mi sed a wide open over the middle. The throw was far too low. Hurts was clean in the pocket too.Hurts mi sed Smith again on a slant, this time the throw was behind the rookie receiver.Late in the game, Smith misfired on a dump off over the middle. With under two minutes to go, Hurts sailed a pa s on the run over Goedert's head.Hurts drifted directly into pre sure late in the game to take an unnece sary hit.Summary:Hurts is a playmaker. He's constantly moving around behind the line to buy more time for himself, and every outing consists of two or three impre sive throws down the field. But he leaves a lot of yards on the field when he's kept inside the pocket. He's still very raw in that area relative to other top quarterbacks in the NFL. Grade: C+Season Grade: C+ CHI QB #1 Best Throws:In the first, Fields ripped a rifle shot into on an out-breaking route between two defenders that was dropped. He threw with requisite timing and accuracy on a long 17-yard out-route to in the second.Fields put it on in the end zone in the second quarter that hit the turf after the tight end was able to reel it in.In the fourth, Fields threw a strike to Kmet over the middle, and the ball arrived a split second Dave Winfield Jersey before the safety was able to fly downhill and make a play on it.Worst Throws:Midway through the first, Fields predetermined an out-breaker to Mooney and the throw was late and too far outside. The interception in the first was a fine display of Fields' supreme athleticism, but he simply tried to do too much and airmailed the pa s as he was on the run.The fourth-quarter interception on a go ball to was well underthrown.Late in the game, Fields threw high on a seam throw to .Summary:I've watched significantly worse outings from rookie quarterbacks in 38-3 type beatdowns on the road. Fields was by not stretch great, or even good, but he was Brad Hand Jersey able to make some impre sive throws when he wasn't getting hit in the pocket or checking it down. And while he did mi s a few open receivers, the hara sment he took was mostly due to outstanding coverage by the . Two of the interceptions were borderline ghastly.Grade: D+Season Grade: C+ NE QB #10 Best Throws:Jones last throw of the game was a gorgeously accurate go route down the sideline to for 46 yards.Worst Throws:His second throw of the game was an off-target to s down the field to .Late in the first, Jones tried to squeeze shorter throw into his tight end, but the throw was late and nearly intercepted. In the second, he pumped, the got to the next read on an out-breaking route but mi sed wide of his target.Later in the second, Jones didn't quite get a downfield route over the trailing cornerback, and it was knocked away.Summary:Talk about a game in which the quarterback's individual performance was not indicative of the score. The dominated the from start to finish, but Jones was simply not asked to make any throws that wouldn't be considered completely customary for any NFL quarterback to make, until his last throw of the game. Also, believe it or not, he was more inaccurate against New York that he'd been in his other games to date this season.Grade: CSeason Grade: C+ HOU QB #10 Best Throws:With a defender bearing down on him, Mills threw with perfect timing and ball placement on a deep out to for 18 yards.Worst Throws:He showed bad pocket awarene s on a sack fumble in the first half.In the fourth, Mills threw considerably behind on a sideline back-shoulder attempt. In garbage time, Mills didn't have enough air under a deep over route to Cooks.A few plays later, he made a dangerous throw on a flag route to Collins that sailed out of bounds but was nearly intercepted.Summary:This game was simply a demonstration of a good Tony Gwynn Jersey team dominating an inferior opponent. Mills wasn't atrocious. Really wasn't. He wasn't great either and almost exclusively checked it down or threw easy, first-read out-breaking routes. Can't move the ball consistently like that in the NFL. Grade: D+Season Grade: C NYJ QB #2 BestThrows:Wilson's shovel pa s to for 12 yards while under pre sure was a thing of improvisational beauty. On the play in which Wilson was hurt, he created to his left and found running toward the sideline for 15 yards with a defender in tight.WorstThrows:While he was being chased, and was hit low as he threw the ball, Wilson was able to get a clean delivery on a ball that skipped into on a short throw.Summary:This shortened contest from Wilson had a few impre sive moments but he was, as usual, dealing with severe pre sure early on in the contest.Grade: C+Season Grade: C-The new NFL season is here!
